ADEME is launching a road-test of the ACT methodology (Assessing low-Carbon Transition) for the Finance sector. It is a unique opportunity to benefit from a third-party analysis of your decarbonization strategy and associated transition plan.
Over the last 9 months, market-led working groups have developed the ACT methodologies for the banking and investing industries (ACT 4 Finance). The methodology is now ready to be road tested with financial institutions by consultants (selected through public purchase process by ADEME). The full process, and purpose of the ACT 4 Finance methodology, is in the attached Call for Applications.
This road-test will provide financial institutions with a free assessment of their climate strategy, completed by an ACT-trained consultant. The road-testing phase will last from March 2023 to September 2023 and is limited to twenty-five financial institutions.
The first round of recruitment will end on January 31.
What is the ACT initiative?
The ACT initiative – Assessing low-Carbon Transition –, co-founded by ADEME (French Agency for Ecological Transition) and CDP, now hosted by the World Benchmarking Alliance, assesses how ready an organization is to transition to the low-carbon economy using future-oriented, sector-specific methodologies. Since COP21, it has been the international pioneer initiative that provides an actual corporate climate accountability framework, as now recommended by the UN SG HLEG’s Report on Net Zero. The attached files provide all the information available about the timelines and a reminder of the methodology, its purpose and structure.
