The ACT initiative

ACT IN THE WORLD

ACT, an initiative with an international reach through local programs.

ACT provides sector-specific methodologies to help companies manage their actions and align their strategies with relevant and ambitious low-carbon trajectories.

ACT is an international initiative working with global economic players to support the establishment of local ecosystems. Contact us if you would like to set up and support an ACT ecosystem in your country.

ACT aims to support international companies in contributing to global carbon neutrality through partnership development.

ACT in France

The aim of the French volunteer program is to roll out the ACT system in France and provide financial support to volunteer companies. This is part of the international ACT initiative and the European AENETA project (co-funded by the EIT Climate KIC network).

ACT in Japan

The participation of numerous Japanese companies in the development and roadtesting of ACT methodologies has enabled ACT to be actively promoted in Japan since 2022, and to position the initiative as a response to the growing local need for advice on drawing up comprehensive transition plans, and supporting the achievement of companies’ decarbonization objectives.

ACT’s visibility and recognition in Japan is supported by two main channels:

1. Benchmarks carried out by the World Benchmarking Alliance, based on the ACT methodology, and covering nearly 30 major Japanese companies in the oil & gas, automotive, power generation and transportation sectors (October 2022). WBA’s commitment to Japan is reflected in its relationship with local ally Caux Round Table Japan.

2. Local support for the promotion and implementation of ACT, provided by Codo Advisory, under an agreement signed with ADEME, ACT’s co-developer, in July 2022.

ACT in Latin America

The ACT-DDP project aims to support the low-carbon transition of the most emissive sectors in Mexico and Brazil. The ACT and DDP initiatives aim to reinforce the collective ambition to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Working together, the initiatives develop, illustrate and promote tools that enable companies, policy-makers, investors and other relevant sectoral and national players to develop low-carbon strategies.
