Impact assessment: demonstrating the strategic value of the ACT Step-by-Step methodology

📏 Measuring to improve

Since its creation, ACT Initiative (Accelerate Climate Transition) guides organisations in assessing and developing ambitious and credible decarbonisation pathways.
Using the methodology ACT Step-By-Step, Developed specifically to support organisations in the design, implementation and monitoring of their transition plans, ACT offers a robust and recognised framework for climate action.

For the first time, ACT Initiative has conducted a quantitative and qualitative impact study to assess the practical value of this methodology among the organisations that have implemented it.
This approach is part of a commitment to transparency, continuous improvement and demonstrating effectiveness.

⚙️ Understanding the real impact of ACT Step-by-Step

The study drew on both quantitative data and qualitative feedback gathered from organisations participating in the ACT Pas-à-Pas initiative.
Its aim was to identify the tangible effects of the ACT approach on their climate strategy, governance and overall performance.

The results are clear:

  • Companies that have followed the ACT Step-by-Step approach are strengthening their ability to manage their climate transition.
  • They help to develop action plans that are more coherent, measurable and credible in the eyes of their stakeholders.
  • They incorporate climate considerations into their overall strategy, thereby improving their resilience to economic risks and uncertainties.

💡 Transition and competitiveness: moving beyond preconceptions

One of the key findings of this study is the shift in perspective regarding the transition.
Far from the criticism that links it to increased costs or reduced competitiveness, the analysis shows that, on the contrary, developing a robust transition plan using ACT Pas-à-Pas is a driver of sustainable performance

The companies receiving support report better strategic alignment, greater agility in responding to regulatory changes and enhanced appeal to investors, partners and talent
In other words: when it is well-structured and carefully managed, the transition becomes a genuine competitive advantage

🔑A key step for ACT

This initial impact assessment marks a significant milestone in the development of ACT.
It confirms that measurement in itself constitutes action, and that a well-managed transition is not a constraint but an opportunity.

The assessment will be updated and expanded in the coming years in order to continue monitoring organisations’ progress and to adapt the ACT Step-by-Step methodology to the new challenges of the climate transition.

📈 Transition is not a cost. It is a driver of performance.

ACT Initiative continues to support organisations in turning climate ambition into a strategic advantage.
